Leadership briefings and staff training.
Practical, hands-on sessions in the tools your team already uses: where AI helps, where it doesn't, and how to use it safely. From a one-hour leadership briefing to a multi-session program.
I help organizations find where AI actually fits, use it safely, and get their team using it well, inside Microsoft, Google or the tools you already pay for.
No pitch deck. Just a conversation about where you are and what you need.
Staff are pasting work into free AI tools with no guidance. If you don't have an AI policy, you have as many AI policies as you have employees.
Licenses for Copilot, Gemini or ChatGPT sit idle because nobody showed the team where they help.
Saving time only matters if you know where those hours go next: growth, service, or getting your evenings back.
Approach
You wouldn't trust a doctor who handed you a prescription before examining you. I start by understanding how your organization actually works, talking with leadership and the people doing the work, because they see things leadership doesn't. Then I recommend only what will pay off. Sometimes that recommendation is that you don't need AI for something at all.
How I help
Practical, hands-on sessions in the tools your team already uses: where AI helps, where it doesn't, and how to use it safely. From a one-hour leadership briefing to a multi-session program.
I interview your leadership and staff, survey how AI is already being used, and map where it can save time and money. You get a short, ranked roadmap: quick wins, the first three priorities, and what each is worth.
A clear, practical policy your team will actually follow, covering what data stays out, which tools are approved and who owns it. I give you the framework, and can work through it with you.
After the roadmap, I can stay on as your adoption partner: setting things up, coaching your internal champions, and adjusting as the tools change.
Process
20 minutes. Your goals, your concerns, and whether I'm the right fit.
From an afternoon for a small team to a few days for a larger one.
A short, prioritized plan, presented and discussed with you, not emailed and forgotten.
Quick wins set up, staff trained, and internal champions coached so your people can carry it forward.
How I work
I won't sell you anything you don't need.
High leverage, low friction.
Your data stays where it already lives.
Built to grow as the tools improve.
The goal is less dependence on me over time, not more.
I've spent my career teaching people to work through complex situations calmly. I spent 25 years in the fire service, where triage taught me to find what matters most first, and I've taught at state fire academies in two states and at two community colleges. I've also spent more than 15 years as an ecological consultant, where everything is a system, and I've guest lectured in graduate landscape architecture. Today I help organizations adopt AI the same way: practical, honest about the limits, and focused on getting people confident with the tools.
I also run AI & Ecology, AI policy and training for environmental organizations.
Who I work with
FAQ
Usually not. Most of the value is in tools you already pay for, like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or ChatGPT, used well.
That's the first thing we address. I'll show your team what should and shouldn't go into AI tools, and how to keep data inside platforms you already trust.
Small teams often see results fastest. A diagnostic for a small team can take a single afternoon.
Rarely. Most needs are covered by tools you already have. When something custom makes sense, I'll tell you, and bring in a trusted developer.
The goal is to take repetitive work off your people's plates and decide together where those hours go next.
It depends on the size of your organization and what you need. We'll talk through options on the discovery call.
Book a 20-minute discovery call. No pitch, no deck. If I'm not the right fit, I'll tell you.
