Cacapon Strategies LLC (“Cacapon Strategies,” “I,” “me”) is a West Virginia limited liability company that provides AI adoption consulting, training and policy services. Cacapon Strategies also does business as AI & Ecology, Bayland and Valleyland. This policy explains what information I collect through this website and how I use it.
Information I collect
- Information you give me: your name, email address, phone number (if provided), organization name, organization size, and anything you write in a form, booking request or email.
- Booking information: the date and time you choose for a call, and any answers you give on the booking form.
- Basic technical information: like most websites, this site and its hosting provider may automatically record your browser type, device, pages visited and approximate location (from your IP address), using cookies or similar technologies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
How I use it
- To reply to you, schedule and hold calls, and send information you asked for
- To provide services if we work together, including proposals, agreements and invoices
- To send occasional follow-up emails related to your inquiry. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link or by replying “unsubscribe.”
- To understand how the site is used and improve it
- To meet legal, tax and accounting requirements
I do not sell your personal information.
Text messages (SMS)
I will only send you text messages if you have given separate, express consent, for example by checking an unchecked consent box. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of booking a call or buying a service. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Who I share information with
I share information only with service providers that help me run this business, and only as needed for them to do their part. These include website hosting, my customer relationship management (CRM) and booking system, email, calendar, payment processing, and accounting. These providers are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing. I may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect my rights or the safety of others.
AI tools
Because AI is the subject of my work, here is how I handle it. I do not enter your personal information or confidential business information into public AI tools that use it to train their models. When I use AI tools in client work, I use business-grade accounts with training on customer data turned off, or tools you have approved, and I follow the data rules we agree on.
How long I keep information
I keep inquiry and contact information for as long as it is useful for our conversation or working relationship, and client records as long as required for tax, legal and accounting purposes. You can ask me to delete your information at any time (see below), subject to those legal requirements.
How I protect it
I use reputable service providers and reasonable safeguards, such as access controls and multi-factor authentication, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but I take protecting your information seriously.
Your choices and rights
You can ask me to:
- tell you what personal information I hold about you
- correct it
- delete it
- stop sending you emails or texts
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state’s privacy law. To make any request, email mike@cacaponstrategies.com. I will respond within a reasonable time, and I will not treat you differently for making a request.
Children
This site and my services are intended for businesses and organizations, not for children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from children.

This site may link to other websites, such as LinkedIn or aiandeco.com. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
